Experience and Qualifications

We are not your average teachers! We specialize in movement and the arts, which makes learning fun and engaging. Beyond the classroom, we have young kids of our own. We love continuing education and staying current in our methods. We are learners just as much as we are teachers!

Director
In My opinion teaching is the greatest profession and I love teaching little people! I have been teaching preschool since 2014. I have a masters in Physical Education from Washington State University. My background in movement and passion for music helps me to teach challenging concepts in a fun way!  Outside of Preschool I am a mother of 4, and I love riding my bike, swimming, playing sports, singing and reading.

Ms. Monica

Teacher

I’ve been teaching at Sprouts Academy for eight years, and in that time I’ve worked with Pre-K, Transitional Kindergarten, and Early Learning students. I also run our Music Makers program, which combines two of my favorite things: teaching and music. I love finding creative ways to keep little ones engaged whether we’re singing, dancing, or getting messy with hands-on learning. Watching kids grow, discover, and build confidence is the best part of what I do. Outside of the classroom, I’m a mom to two awesome kids (a boy and a girl) and we spend as much time as we can outdoors. You can find us at the lake paddle boarding, kayaking, or just soaking up nature. I also love crafting and finding old furniture to refinish. As much as I love teaching, family time and staying creative is really important to me.

Ms. Cassie

Teacher

Hello, I am Ms. Cassie! I am super excited to be working with preschoolers. One of my favorite quotes is, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” by William Butler Yeats. Every child holds a match and I love helping them light their own fire! I graduated with a bachelors in Early Childhood Special Education. I have taught young children while student teaching, in church primary classes, and ran my own in-home preschool for 2 years. Some of my most favorite and memorable lessons include hands-on and real-world learning. When I’m not in the classroom I enjoy running, gardening, and hanging out with my 3 children and husband.

When I was younger, you could find me helping out in the nursery and preschool classrooms, eventually geting my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  I have nannied, taught at different preschools including Montessori, childcare and was a center director. What I love the most about my job is seeing the excitement in the eyes of each child as they are learning something new! Ms. Jenny

Teacher

Hello! My name is Jenny, and I’m so excited to be part of your child’s early learning journey. I graduated from Western Oregon University with a degree in early childhood and elementary education. I worked as an elementary teacher for 8 years in southern Oregon before taking time to be a stay at home mom to my three kids. I’m so excited to be back in the classroom, especially at Sprouts, where all three of my kids have gone! I truly believe that the preschool years are a magical time filled with curiosity, growth, and joy. Outside the classroom, I enjoy cooking, reading, planning & hosting parties, and mostly spending time with my husband and kids. I can’t wait to learn, laugh, and grow with your children this year!

Ms. Heather

Teacher

Hello, my name is Heather, and I’m so excited to be part of your child’s preschool journey! I graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Child, Youth and Family Studies with specializations in both elementary and special education. However, my primary experience has been in preschool and daycare centers. My plan was always to be a second grade teacher, however that changed when I had a medically fragile child of my own who needed me at home. I was blessed to be a stay at home mom until both of my kids started school. I started at Sprouts Academy after getting to experience it as a parent for both of my children. I’m so grateful that I get to be part of the Sprouts family. When I’m not at work, you can usually find me at my kids school, reading a book or spending time with my family! We are going to have a wonderful year! parties.
